Camp Sale Creek and The German POW Camp

This 14-page narrative recounts the story of how a 247-man German prisoner of war detachment, based at Camp Forest, Tullahoma, Tennessee, assisted in saving the 1945 peach crop at Sale Creek. It also recounts interactions between town people and the prisoners, as well as a lasting friendship that developed between a labor foreman and one of the English-speaking prisoners.
