A Treasury of Sale Creek Stories

A Treasury of Sale Creek Stories is a group of 50 stories about Sale Creek people, places, and events, including 14 stories about World War II, nine stories about trainwrecks, the account of the 1909 tornado that ravaged Coulterville, the history of the Mill Dam, tributes to noteworthy Sale Creek residents, and how some of the streets got their unique names. Also included are "the rest of the story" accounts of strange business names, like the hamburger stand called the Green Fly. Three stories are told about hobos. Some of the interesting stories from the cemeteries are also told. Three abandoned and forgotten cemeteries are included in the accounts. The story is told about the author and two local homeowners finding three Confederate soldiers' graves in a yard in August 2025. The story of the Goatman of Jeffersonville, Georgia, is recounted along with a couple of his visits to Sale Creek. And no local storybook would be complete without the story of an old faithful dog.
